Frequently asked questions
Everything to know before your first daily word
Verbobum sends one new word a day through a channel you already use. These are direct answers about the content, delivery, plans, and account controls.
Is Verbobum free?
Yes. The free plan includes one general-vocabulary word a day by email or Telegram, at a time you choose. Paid plans add multiple channels, specialist topics, and audio where offered.
Do I need to install an app?
No Verbobum app is required. Sign-up and settings work in your browser, and email needs no extra app. If you choose Telegram or Signal, you use that service’s existing app or web client.
What will I receive each day?
Each message contains one word, a short original definition, and two or three sentences showing it in context. The free plan covers general vocabulary; specialist topics belong to paid plans when sales are open.
Which languages are available?
French, English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Italian. The word, definition, and examples are written entirely in the chosen language; the service is not a bilingual translation card.
Can I choose the delivery time?
Yes. Choose an hour and time zone in your settings. Verbobum schedules the message for your local day, although the messaging provider may introduce a short delay.
Can I receive words on Telegram or Signal?
Telegram can be the free plan’s main channel once the bot is connected. Paid accounts can enable several channels, including Signal when it is shown as operational in settings. Email remains the fallback until Telegram is linked.
How are words and definitions checked?
AI proposes each entry but cannot publish it directly. Open lexical data, grammar checks, anti-copy checks, register filters, and two independent reviewers must all agree. A missing check or disagreement means rejection.
Will I receive the same word twice?
Not twice on the same channel: delivery history is stored per channel. A channel added later has its own history, so a new Telegram connection may begin earlier in the collection than your email.
How do I pause or unsubscribe?
Every email includes links to manage settings and stop delivery. You can pause for seven days or indefinitely. If a link expires, request a fresh passwordless management link from the help page.
Does stopping messages cancel Premium?
No. Pausing delivery does not cancel Stripe billing. Cancel a paid plan through the billing portal. Deleting the account cancels any billing first, then deactivates the account.
What happens to my email and personal data?
Your email confirms, recovers, and delivers the service. Brevo receives it for email delivery. Verbobum does not sell personal data and uses no advertising or profiling script. The privacy page lists every provider and retention period.
Is pronunciation audio included?
Audio is a Premium+ feature on Telegram and Signal. Email stays text-only. If audio is unavailable for a word, the written message is still delivered.
